Coffee, Gallery and Cultural Understanding

Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood is developed in 2005, after the visit of Prince Charles. This place - also known as Al Bastakiya was an area where it can hold up to 60 houses. Now, this are is preserved to restore its locality old building and lanes by Dubai Municipality. In this location, it has some museums cafes and Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU).

You can see in this area, the buildings are preserved. It might not be from the original component, but it looks almost the same with the original buildings. The alleys between buildings are narrow. It will makes you feel like to went back to the old time.

You can find some unique designs and architecture. For example, this strings and bikes. I honestly didn't get the chance to get into the SMCCU (though it's one of the main point here), but definitely will go back for it!

This one cafe, XVA. It is hotel, cafe and gallery. I went to get a sip of the Lemon sorbet and I can't get enough of it! During a hot day, it's perfect choice! XVA has an amazing design which will makes your instagram feed looks good!

There's also Coffee Museum. IT'S FREE guys! you can find all type of coffee machine and coffee beans from all around the world. Also, if you ever wonder to have a sit on the floor and take a sip of coffee, you can do it here!

If you ever wonder how Dubai looks like 60 years ago, you have to go to the Dubai Museum. Located 5 mins away from the Historical Neighborhood, you can find this tiny looking place (wait until you get to the basement!). You need to pay 3dhs to get into the museum and enjoy the magic of the history!

How to get here? 1. you can take taxi and stopped right in front of it. 2. you can take metro - in this case you need to get off at Al Fahidi metro station Exit 2. You need to walk straight for about 10 minutes, and you'll be there!
